Rectors' Award: Martyna Jaworska, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Project for the revitalisation of Gubin Parish Church
- Otwórz okno dialogowe, slajd numer: 1
The jury appreciated the author’s reinterpretation of sacred architecture and giving it a new function. In today’s times, where we wonder how much to build and how much to revitalise, this is a beautiful project in relation to ecology in architecture.
The author points out that a hitherto abandoned place can become the educational and cultural heart of the city, a space for social integration. Despite the change in function, the author has managed to preserve the non-grounded, spiritual character of the building.
Prize of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage: Agnieszka Szmyd, ASP in Gdańsk. Harness stabilising dogs with behavioural disorders during basic veterinary care
- Otwórz okno dialogowe, slajd numer: 1
The project highlighted the solution to a real problem, which is the difficulty of performing veterinary examinations on dogs, especially in difficult conditions – in shelters and asylums.
The designer focused on real needs, her design was preceded by research and interviews with behaviourists and veterinarians, and she tested the prototype on dogs under controlled conditions. This resulted in a design that is realistic and easy to implement.
Prize of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodship: Paulina Krynicka, Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznań. ‘Wojtek, Mania and Interrogation’ - illustrated therapeutic fairy tale and legal guide
- Otwórz okno dialogowe, slajd numer: 1
The jury appreciated the identification of a difficult problem and the attempt to solve it with a therapeutic fable for questioning children and a legal guide for their carers.
This is a great example of socially responsible design that raises legal awareness. Also noteworthy is the thoughtful visual language adapted to both audiences.
Nagroda Prezydenta Miasta Katowice: Carlos Bravo Saldarriaga, ASP w Katowicach. Multisensoryczna strategia wspierająca nawigację zwiedzających i promująca dostępność w Muzeum Śląskim
- Otwórz okno dialogowe, slajd numer: 1
The jury appreciated the recognition of a specific problem, identified locally, as well as the author’s sensitivity to the needs of visually and hearing impaired people in wheelchairs, foreigners and families.
In response to the diagnosed need, a multisensory solution was created to aid navigation through the complex outdoor area of the Silesian Museum – reliably designed, functional and aesthetically pleasing.
City & Design Award: Mariusz Śmietana, Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznań. Joining forces with the sun. Harnessing solar energy to improve human and planetary well-being
- Otwórz okno dialogowe, slajd numer: 1
The task of today’s metropolises is to take care of the inhabitants, providing them with good living conditions, well-being and sustainability. Big cities give a lot, but they often lose what is most important. Light is just such an asset.
We recognise how important it is when access to it starts to be limited. Mr Mariusz Śmietana’s idea is a chance for more light, which means more life and joy of living.

Jakub Maślak, ASP in Warsaw
Visual identity for the skateboarding brand Ancymon
For creating an accurate brand identity for a rather hermetic skateboarding subculture. The author showed great passion and knowledge, reminding us of the non-hyped heritage of skateboarding.
Dominik Żyża, ASP Łódź
‘I will never forget about you’ – a paraphrase of the works of Władysław Hasior in the author’s collection of footwear and accessories
For an original interpretation of folk culture and icons of everyday life typical of 1970s design. Transferring the pattern of the iconic crystal glass to plastic seems particularly interesting.
Patrycja Mróz, Academy of Art in Szczecin
‘Grandmothers of Architecture’. Multi-page publication devoted to selected Polish female architects of the 20th century.
For the promotion of Polish architecture and Polish female architects, still not well enough known and appreciated in Poland and abroad. For an interesting graphic design inspired by the design of the times in which the female architects worked.
Agata Wajda, Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.
Armchair for carers of people hospitalised in medical facilities
For a practical solution that improves the comfort of carers of hospitalised children; for noticing the problem, existing solutions and trying to fix them. Designed in a rather austere, but at the same time friendly and therefore feasible way to implement.
