Fashion and its contexts design

This field of study is offered at the Faculty of Design – full-time, first-cycle studies

The studies on this faculty educate modern designers aware of the broader social significance of fashion design. Students undergo a full course in sewing and construction of clothing, they learn the process of designing both individual forms of clothing, as well as an entire fashion collection. They learn authorial textile design, building a professional portfolio using drawings, graphics, typography, film and photography. They learn the methods of contemporary fashion communication, creating the visual identity of their own brand and the principles of cooperation with the mass media. In addition to imparting practical knowledge that enables students to prepare their own fashion collections, they study the artistic, historical and social contexts of fashion. Design classes are partly taught in English. Work placements take place in the world’s most famous fashion houses.
