The Rector and the Senate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw would like to invite you to the inauguration of the academic year 2024/2025, which will take place on 2 October (Wednesday) 2024 at 12.00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall of the Academy of Fine Arts building at 37/39 Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie St. Musical setting for the ceremony will be provided by the Academic Choir of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music under the direction of Dr Jakub Hutek.

The first lecture in the new academic year, entitled ‘Art without powers’, will be given by Jerzy Owsiak – a radio and television journalist, as he says about himself: ‘an observer of ephemeral and strange things’.
He made his debut on the Scouting Broadcasting Station in 1986. Today, he hosts his music programme every Monday at 8 p.m. on Antyradio.
Originator, co-founder and president of the board of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation, with which he implements the idea of the annual WOŚP Finale. So far, the Foundation has collected over PLN 2 billion in January collections to support Polish medicine. Creator of the Woodstock Festival (today Pol’and’Rock Festival) – the largest open festival in Europe.
