Scenography

This field of study is offered at the Department of Stage Design – full time master’s degree programme

The studies on this faculty are dedicated to people interested in theatre, film, space and costume creation. The course includes design exercises in scenography – both set and costume design – for drama and musical theatre, shows, film and television. Lectures and seminars provide the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the arts and to develop teamwork skills. During their studies, using the competences acquired in the painting, sculpture, photography and drawing studios, students develop their own design workshop.
The teaching staff are professionally active artists connected with film and theatre, set designers who have been co-creating the most important cinema, theatre and opera productions for years. They share their experience – they teach both the design and realisation of original concepts. The classes are complemented by workshops co-organised with, among others, the Theatre Academy in Warsaw, the National Theatre in Warsaw, the National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź and the Warsaw Film School.
