POSTCARD FOR HERMÈS – student competition
Since 1837, Hermès has remained faithful to its artisan model and its humanist values. The freedom to create, the spirit of innovation, the constant search for beautiful materials, the transmission of savoir-faire of excellence, and the aesthetic of functionality all forge the singularity of Hermès, a house of objects created to last. An independent, family-owned company which encompasses 16 métiers, Hermès is dedicated to keeping the majority of its production in France through its 60 production and training sites and to developing its network of next to 300 stores in 45 countries. The group employs 25,700 people worldwide, including 15,900 in France. Axel Dumas, a sixth generation family member, has been Hermès CEO since 2013. Founded in 2008, the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès supports projects in the areas of artistic creation, education, training and the transmission of savoir-faire, biodiversity, and the preservation of the environment.
* As of 30th June 2025
Wishing to celebrate local creativity and the spirit of the city, HERMÈS invites students of the Faculties of Graphic Arts, Painting and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw to design postcards in the format specified in § 5 of the Rules, which will be distributed free of charge to guests during the DRAWN TO CRAFT – WARSAW event. Each postcard will feature the name of its designer. On the opening day of the event, during the inauguration, the competition winner and the winning work will be officially announced.
Hermès DRAWN TO CRAFT is an intimate city event, open to everyone, which for several days immerses participants in the world of drawing in all its forms – from workshops and shows to spontaneous meetings with creators. Its goal is to gather people around creativity and self-expression.
The project should reflect the light, joyful spirit of the event and refer to the given topic:
„Re-imagine your favorite drawing tool as a subject brought to life.”
„Wyobraź sobie swoje ulubione narzędzie do rysowania jako coś, co ożywa.”
Before the competition begins, HERMÈS will deliver an oral presentation of the competition brief to the Participants. Attendance at the brief presentation is recommended, but is not a requirement for participation in the Competition.
Submissions will be accepted until: Friday, 15 May 2026. Submissions must be sent exclusively from the Participant’s academic e-mail address.
