Painter. He studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 1989-1994; completed his degree with honours in Rajmund Ziemski’s Studio of Painting, Stanisław Andrzejewski’s Studio of Textiles and Czesław Radzki’s Studio of Drawing. He also studied at the Faculty of Polish Language and Literature at the University of Warsaw (MA in Polish Philology), 1980-1986.

Dr (2001); Dr hab. (2009); Professor of Fine Arts (2019). Since graduating in painting, he has worked at the Faculty of Painting of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Currently, he runs Studio of Painting for 1st-year Students. He was twice Deputy Dean for research and the Rector’s Representative for Doctoral Studies at the Faculty of Painting.

Author of many individual exhibitions, participant of numerous collective exhibitions in Poland and internationally, incl. at the ‘Elektrownia’ Mazovian Centre for Contemporary Art in Radom; The ‘Dom Isskustv’ Exhibition Centre of the Saint Petersburg Union of Artists in St Petersburg; Museum of the Academy of Art in Minsk; The ‘Pushkinskaya 10’ Museum of Nonconformist Art in St Petersburg; Heidelberger Forum für Kunst; Constantin Brȃncuşi Exhibition Centre in Chisinau; The Parliament of the Czech Republic in Prague; Antoni Rząsa Gallery in Zakopane; Home of Congress and Conferences of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Jabłonna; Artistic Activities Centre in Piotrków Trybunalski, and recently at the House of Polish Culture in Vilnius. Curator of many painting exhibitions in Poland and internationally, including: 100% Painting. 60 years of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Warsaw; Malerei oder Bild, Heidelberg; Invisible Spectre, Museum of the Warsaw Rising; Miłoszo įkvėpti / Inspired by Miłosz, Vilnius; ASP W/WM 15, Warsaw–Wrocław. Author of numerous press and book publications, including monographs, on painting.
