Educated at the Leon Schiller National Academic School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź, Faculty of Cinematography and Television Production, where he studied Cinematography, Television Image Production and Stationary Photography. He studied under Prof. Ewa Braun, Prof. Jolanta Dylewska, Prof. Mieczysław Jahoda, Prof. Witold Sobociński and Prof. Jerzy Wójcik, among others.
Professor of Visual Arts. Dean of the Faculty of Media Art, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 2016-2020. He runs Visual Relations Studio, Faculty of Media Art, whose graduates were nominated to participate in Coming Out Best Degree Pieces Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw four times, and once – in the national show Esteemed Graduates of Academies of Fine Arts.
Research projects manager. For his contribution to the educational and scholarly development of the Academy, he received Rector’s Award four times, including the most prestigious – Pegasus Award.
He received Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis, 2016.
His art practice encompasses two fields: Art Photography and Lighting and Video Projections Design for theatre productions.
He has created many original photographic projects, the most important of which are: Family Portrait, Duration of Space, Absence, Homage to Piotr Łazarkiewicz, Perfectly Happy People and For a Moment I Had Everything. He has presented his works at several dozen exhibitions in Poland and internationally.
Since 2007 he has collaborated with some theatres, including Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, Rozmaitości Theatre in Warsaw, Nowy Theatre in Poznań and Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Krakow. During ten years of his work in this field he has designed lighting for almost forty productions, having worked with the following directors: Izabela Cywińska, Grzegorz Bral, Zbigniew Brzoza, Andrzej Domalik, Robert Drobniuch, Natalia Korczakowska, Bogusław Linda and Rudolf Zioło.
He is the author of numerous publications, including three monographs. His works are held in several dozen private collections and museums in Poland and internationally.
