In the 1960s and 1970s, a revolution was born at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw that transformed the language of global art. The exhibition “SOFT POWER. The Warsaw Origins of the Polish School of Textile Art” brings together the historical roots of this revolution with the latest works by contemporary artists, raising questions about the continuity of ideas, the power of textile as a medium, and its significance in the contemporary world.
The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in partnership with HERMÈS, invites students of the Faculty of Painting, Graphic Arts and Design to design a postcard.
On Friday, 16 January 2026, a special event took place in the Aula of the Academy of Fine Arts at 37/39 Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie. Lecturers from the Italian Poliarte University in Ancona presented the project LAND OF SYMPHONY – AN ITALIAN DESIGN STORY. As part of the project, they spoke about Italian cinema, scenography, and design.
On September 3–5, 2025, at the invitation of the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the meeting of the Board of the Cumulus Association was held at the Czapski Palace. The Association brings together 395 art and design universities from 71 countries worldwide.
From October 11, 2024 to March 30, 2025 the Czapski Palace will host an exhibition of photographs from the collection of the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw – "And Now Photography". The exhibition includes both artistic photographs taken from the 1930s to the 21st century, as well as archival photographs relating to the life of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. For the first time, photographs constituting an important part of the collections of the Academy of Fine Arts Museum in Warsaw, will be shown to the general public.
On 2 October 2024 at 6 p.m., the exhibition spaces of the Czapski Palace will host the vernissage of Łukasz Korolkiewicz's painting exhibition ‘Prof. K.’s Experiment', curated by Magdalena Sołtys. The public will be able to get acquainted with the work of the artist - and a long-time didactician of the University - from 26 September to 31 October 2024. The exhibition accompanies the 14th edition of Warsaw Gallery Weekend (26-29 September 2024).
From 2 - 31 October, we invite you to Galeria -1 (Czapski Palace) for an exhibition dedicated to the work, teaching and research activities of Professor Włodzimierz Szymański - ‘Włodzimierz Szymański 1960-2023’. Curators: Klaudia Kiercz-Długołęcka, Dorota Kozieradzka.

We have just announced the winners and runners-up of the Design 32 competition for the best design diplomas of 2023 at public art schools in Poland. Martyna Jaworska from the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw won the Rectors' main prize for her design for the revitalisation of the Gubinska Fara. Jakub Maślak from the Faculty of Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw was recognised for his visual identification of the Ancymon skateboard brand. Hearty congratulations!
The election meeting of the Electoral College of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw was held on 27 March 2024, during which the rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw was elected for the term 2024 - 2028. Prof. Błażej Ostoja Lniski became the rector-elect. The second term of office will begin on 1 September 2024 and will last until 31 August 2028. We extend our sincere congratulations to the newly elected Rector!
