The Academy of Fine Arts at YODEX 2026 in Taipei

The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw took part in the 45th edition of the Young Designers' Exhibition (YODEX), held from 22 to 25 May 2026 at Hall 2 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taiwan. YODEX is the largest student-oriented design exhibition in Asia, attracting more than 80,000 visitors from Taiwan and abroad each year and showcasing the work of students from design schools around the world.

Carla Habierska Receives Liu Shiming Art Scholarship
Carla Habierska, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Sculpture of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, has become the first recipient of the Liu Shiming Art Scholarship – an international award supporting young artists whose work bridges tradition and contemporary practice. The scholarship was presented on 19 June during the opening of the exhibition Upcoming. Selected Diploma Works from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts at the Czapski Palace.

Drawing that connects: our students at Hermès’s “Drawn to Craft”
On 19 June, at the Summer Stage of the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw, Hermès held an open-air event dedicated to drawing. It was an occasion for spontaneous creativity and shared creation – a place where drawing became a language of encounter and play. During the official opening, two students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw – Weronika Cichocka and Alicja Gradowska – received certificates for their award-winning postcard designs. Both winning works stand out for their originality and the lightness of their line, as well as the graceful way they weave the brand's philosophy together with local character. We warmly congratulate the laureates and wish them every further creative success.

Maria Hansen Visited the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
International CooperationOn 2 June, the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw hosted Maria Hansen, Executive Director of ELIA – the European League of Institutes of the Arts. ELIA is a European network with a global reach, connecting more than 280 arts institutions across dozens of countries and representing nearly 300,000 students from every artistic discipline. For over thirty years, it has been one of the leading platforms for international collaboration and exchange in arts education.

SOFT POWER
exhibitionIn the 1960s and 1970s, a revolution was born at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw that transformed the language of global art. The exhibition “SOFT POWER. The Warsaw Origins of the Polish School of Textile Art” brings together the historical roots of this revolution with the latest works by contemporary artists, raising questions about the continuity of ideas, the power of textile as a medium, and its significance in the contemporary world.

LAND OF SYMPHONY AN ITALIAN DESIGN STORY
On Friday, 16 January 2026, a special event took place in the Aula of the Academy of Fine Arts at 37/39 Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie. Lecturers from the Italian Poliarte University in Ancona presented the project LAND OF SYMPHONY – AN ITALIAN DESIGN STORY. As part of the project, they spoke about Italian cinema, scenography, and design.

Cumulus Association Board meeting at the Czapski Palace
On September 3–5, 2025, at the invitation of the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, the meeting of the Board of the Cumulus Association was held at the Czapski Palace. The Association brings together 395 art and design universities from 71 countries worldwide.

“And Now Photography”. The exhibition of photographs from the collection of the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
The photography by Zofia Kulik - "Open Air in Skokach" (Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz's studio, 1968/69) is used on the main graphics. From October 11, 2024 to March 30, 2025 the Czapski Palace will host an exhibition of photographs from the collection of the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw – "And Now Photography". The exhibition includes both artistic photographs taken from the 1930s to the 21st century, as well as archival photographs relating to the life of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. For the first time, photographs constituting an important part of the collections of the Academy of Fine Arts Museum in Warsaw, will be shown to the general public.

Łukasz Korolkiewicz ‘Prof. K.’s Experiment’. Exhibition at the Czapski Palace | Salon Akademii gallery
On 2 October 2024 at 6 p.m., the exhibition spaces of the Czapski Palace will host the vernissage of Łukasz Korolkiewicz's painting exhibition ‘Prof. K.’s Experiment', curated by Magdalena Sołtys. The public will be able to get acquainted with the work of the artist - and a long-time didactician of the University - from 26 September to 31 October 2024. The exhibition accompanies the 14th edition of Warsaw Gallery Weekend (26-29 September 2024).
